Gemma, from Liverpool in England, started dancing at the age of 4 and singing at the age of 10. She performed on stage in pantomimes including the lead role of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin. After high school Gemma won a scholarship to study musical theatre for 2 years at the Liverpool Theatre School. She started working semi-professionally at the age of 16 when she won a place in a local girl band and then joined another group in Manchester who wrote and recorded their own songs while touring the North West of England. At 20 years of age Gemma started her professional career singing and dancing in Spain. From there she travelled the world for three years performing on cruise ships as a singer before returning to the UK touring in a cabaret showband. Prior to joining Milan Gemma worked as lead female production singer for a major cruise line travelling around Asia for 6 months. Gemma writes her own music and at the age of 16 one of her songs was released on a UK record label.
